Jef Slootmaeckers is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Belgium, and a certified Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Therapist, Supervisor, and Trainer. He is a board member of EFT-Belgium and specializes in the integration of EFT with work on Intimate Partner Violence. Jef began his career working in shelters for women and children and later spent more than a decade in a specialized treatment center providing couple therapy for relationships affected by violent escalation. He now maintains a private practice offering EFT therapy and supervision. Passionate about working with trauma and aggression, Jef focuses on how all three modalities of EFT can support wounded individuals, couples, and families in moving toward safer, more secure connection. Together with Lieven Migerode, he has authored a Dutch-language book and several articles on EFT and Intimate Partner Violence, and they have presented EFT and Fighting for Connection trainings internationally.
