In this plenary, Gail Palmer and Leanne Campbell will speak about past, present, and future, with a focus specifically on EFFT (Emotionally Focused Family Therapy) and EFIT (Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy). Once in the background, these modalities are now in focus as EFT as a multi-modal model continues to build momentum. Standing on the shoulders of EFT for couples as a gold standard intervention and holding true to its core, EFT as applied to families and individuals is sure to broaden and deepen the impact of this powerful model.
Learning outcomes:
- Describe the history of EFFT and EFIT in the broader EFT Model (S. Johnson)
- Outline the unique and shared contributions of EFFT and EFIT to the psychotherapy field, now and into the future
- Identify the common factors and key ingredients of the EFT model that initiate an organic growth process, whether working with individuals, couples, or families
