Overview:
Many couples struggle to translate emotional shifts into embodied intimacy. This workshop demonstrates how touch-based interventions, used safely and selectively, can deepen partners’ experiences of responsiveness, co-regulation, and sexual connection. Through case examples and guidelines for clinical decision-making, participants will explore how touch may support secure attachment while honoring trauma histories and cultural context. The focus is on using touch not as technique, but as a gateway to accessibility, responsiveness, and engagement.
Learning outcomes:
- Tailor touch-based work with awareness of trauma, culture, and therapist self-of-therapist dynamics
- Utilize a decision-making process for integrating structured touch exercises
- Process touch interventions through the EFT Tango to deepen emotional connection
